Security Disclaimer

Classical ciphers are not secure. The cipher tools on SolveCipher.com — including Caesar cipher, Vigenère cipher, substitution cipher, ROT13, Atbash, Rail Fence, Playfair, and all other classical ciphers — are provided for educational, entertainment, and puzzle-solving purposes only.

These ciphers were designed before modern computing. They can be broken in milliseconds by any standard cryptanalysis tool. Do not use classical ciphers to protect sensitive, personal, financial, or confidential information. For any real security need, use modern encryption standards: AES-256 for symmetric encryption, RSA or ECC for asymmetric encryption, and TLS for data in transit. If you need security advice, consult a qualified cybersecurity professional.

Tool Accuracy

The cipher tools on SolveCipher.com are designed to be accurate for standard inputs, but we make no guarantee that all outputs are correct in every case. Cipher implementations may handle edge cases — unusual characters, very long inputs, non-ASCII text — differently from other tools or reference implementations.

Our automatic substitution cipher solver uses a statistical hill-climbing algorithm. It is highly effective on well-formed English ciphertext but may not find the correct solution for very short texts, non-English plaintexts, or ciphertexts with unusual character distributions.

We do not guarantee that cipher outputs, historical information, or any other content on this site are 100% accurate or complete. Always verify critical results independently.

Educational Purpose

SolveCipher.com is intended for educational and informational purposes. Our tools and content are designed to help people learn about cryptography, solve puzzles, crack escape room codes, decode geocaching mystery caches, and explore the fascinating history of secret communication.

Our blog articles are written to be informative and accurate, but they are not a substitute for professional cryptographic analysis, academic research, or certified security guidance. If you need authoritative cryptographic guidance for a professional, legal, or security context, please consult a qualified expert.
